Having crashed on their way to Ishbal, Ed and Al are forced to walk. Luckily, Ed and Al stumble on a town.
Suddenly, Al asks Ed if the Homunculus are a greater threat than Scar. Their main objective to regain their original bodies, Al wonders if there is another way instead of the Philosopher's Stone.
As tempers flair, Ed and Al counter each other's alchemy in a fantastic display in the town's main street. Fed up, Ed leaves Al in a cage and walks off.
Back in Central City, Winry meets with Scieszka in a cafe. Pondering the death of Hughes, Scieszka cannot find anyone in the military to trust. She has also come to some startling conclusions regarding the 5th Laboratory and the civil war in Ishbal.
Walking the streets, Al and Marta reunite.
Scieszka has come to a startling conclusion regarding the Fuhrer's secretary, Juliet Douglas. In order to gather more information about her, Scieszka and Winry infiltrate the military to eavesdrop on her.
In the town, Marta asks Al information about the Homunculus so that she may exact her revenge for her comrades.
Winry easily taps Douglas's phone line, she and Scieszka wait.
Still searching for Al, Ed thinks back to the times when they used to fight as children.
Finally, Winry and Scieszka finally catch a break, Envy has contacted Douglas. However, Douglas notices the line is tapped and goes to investigate. But before she can take care of the two eavesdroppers, Ross and Block appear. Before Douglas diappears, Winry realizes that she resembles Ed and Al's dead mother.
Instead of walking to Ishbal, Al and Ed hitch a ride with Marta. On the way, they remenisce over old times.
