Back in Central City, the Fuhrer announces that he will be going to Lior. In the hallway, the Fuhrer and Sloth are joined by Envy...
In Lior, Ed and Scar have a confrontation which reveals Scar's objective in Lior, to make the Philosopher's Stone a reality. Their words turn into a battle where Ed clearly has the advantage. By substituting his auto-mail with metals other than steel, Ed is able to counter Scar's
destructive power.
In the midst of their battle, Lust and Gluttony interrupt claiming to protect Scar. Scar brings out a momento from Lust's past causing her to faint. Ed tells him that weaknesses of the Homunculus are parts of their former bodies.
Before they can continue their battle, they are interrupted by Rose and Lyra. Through Lyra, Rose asks that Ed listen to Scar's story. Consumed by the death of his lover, Scar's brother devoted himself to the forbidden "Great Art". It was his brother who scarificed Ishbal.
Ed tells Scar that a Homunculus is the result of a failed human transmutation. Dante's creation was Greed while Scar's brother appears to have created Lust...
Scar got his scar and lost his arm because of Kimbley. However, his brother sacrificed his life and gave his arm to Scar, the arm that has the countless lives of Ishbalites sealed within.
Still objecting to Scar's plan to complete the Stone, Ed is told by Lyra that Scar intends to sacrifice the soldiers not the civilians. Ed also learns that Rose was capture by the military, and when she was released, she had lost her voice.
Back at regional headquarters, the Fuhrer has arrived. In secret, he asks Kimbley to lead Tucker's chimeras into town and instigate an uprising. Suddenly, Marta attacks the Fuhrer only to find her every move read. He is also a Homunculus.
