Al body begins to change. Slowly but surely, Al will explode unless someone can reverse Kimbley's transmutation.
In the escape tunnel, Rose speaks for the first time, and her voice moves Ed to suppress Wrath and approach his mistake, Sloth. Although outnumbered, Ed buys enough time for him and Rose to escape for the time being.
Mustang, Hawkeye, and Armstrong walk in on Archer. Before they can do anything, Archer releases Tucker's chimeras and locks them in. He cannot have anyone interfering with his mission to become the hero of Lior.
Back in town, Scar talks with Lust while he attempts to save Al. Following in his brother's footsteps, Scar has made Al's metal body into a transmutation circle.
Having helped the townspeople escape, Ed heads back to the city in search of Scar. Meanwhile, Scar has lured the military into the city, but he is fatally wounded shielding Lust from a volley of bullets.
As the soldiers unsuspectantly storm the city, time expires and the transmutation occurs. Engulfing the entire city, Ed is barely able to save those on its outskirts.
Mustang, Hawkeye, and Armstrong finish off the last of the chimeras has Mustang's other subordinates rush in to tell him that the city of Lior is shining bright red.
Ed rushes into the barren wasteland created in search of Scar only to find his brother Al. Al has been transmutated into the Philosopher's Stone.
