Still with Izumi in Dante's house, Ed learns more about Dante and her relationship with Izumi. Unlike Dante, Izumi moved into the city to use her alchemy to help people.
Dante's relationship to Light Hohenheim is also brought up. Mentioning that it was taboo to speak of it, Izumi notes that a love letter between Hohenheim and Dante is 400 years old.
Leaving to fight the Homunculus, Ed apologizes.
Back in Central, Mustang and Armstrong prepare to leave for the northern front, but as they do, the Fuhrer shocks them by revealing that Archer is still alive and will be in charge of defending Central while the two are gone.
Underground, the Fuhrer meets with Dante. She plans to kill anyone involved with Hughes's murder case by sending them to the north. Envy interrupts and demands to know the whereabouts of Hohenheim.
Dante tells him that he is dead, and Envy goes into a frenzy. She then gives Envy a target to transfer his anger... the Elric brothers.
Al, in Tucker's lair, unwittingly activates the Philosopher's Stone within him as Tucker attempts to revive his daughter.
Elsewhere, Ed is attacked by Lust and Wrath. Lust, however, no longer trusts Dante and asks Ed if he will make her human provided that she helps him. Having disposed of Wrath, Ed and Lust head to Tucker's lair where Sloth has already reared her head.
