At the large presidential residence, Pride fights Mustang while Archer who heads towards the residence. On the other hand at Dante's residence, Envy goes through the gate. And Ed, in order to recall an important person, strikes both hands together again...

Al is distraught after Ed dies by Envy's hand.
Back in Central, the Fuhrer's family has evacuated the compound. The caravan is halted by Archer who is shocked by the presence of Hawkeye. In the midst of the confusion, the Fuhrer's son escapes into the woods.
Mustang, still in the compound, seems to be fighting a losing battle against the Fuhrer, a.k.a. Pride. Just as the Pride is about to finish him off, the Fuhrer's son opens the door. And suddenly, Pride is almost paralyzed--from his safe, his son has brought his one weakness. Capitalizing, Mustang uses this to his advantage and finishes Pride off.
Underground, Gluttony feasts on Al's body but soon finds his teeth decomposing; Al is trying to bring his brother back.
Hawkeye, meanwhile, rushes back to the compound where she kills Archer only to find Mustang's lifeless body sprawled on the ground.
At the Gate, Ed warns Envy of the dangers of opening the Gate, but Envy opens it anyway, delighted by the fact that he will be able to kill his creator, Light Hohenheim.
Then, Ed opens his eyes to Rose's face. Deeply saddened by his brother's sacrifice, Ed uses himself to bring Al back. He tells Rose to talk Wrath with her, for he is going to destroy the underground city so that no one will ever seak the Philosopher's Stone.
Forcing his way into the elevator, Gluttony has lost all sense of self and chargers Dante. The elevator opens empty...
With the disappearance of the Fuhrer, a new government is formed and control of the military is transferred over to them. Mustang is hospitalized and is under the care of Hawkeye. Al was found in the body of a 10 year old, yet he remembers nothing after the day he and Al tried to transmutate their mother.
In Resembul, Izumi broods over Wrath's disappearance. Al wants to meet his brother once again, so he pleads Izumi to take him as her student.
On the other side of the Gate, it is 1921, and Hohenheim is a member of a society in Germany studying magic, the Thule Society. Ed, who is still trying to find a way back, is off to Transylvania to do research on the liquid fuel rocket with Oberth.
Reaching for the skies, Ed and Al promise to find each other once again.
