Saddened by the death of her sister, Clause becomes a tomboy who dislikes the aspects of womanhood. She blames the apparition Karin for all the town's problems as well as her sister's death. As a result, she swears to avenge the death of her sister.
Finally able to accept her sister's death, Clause becomes more femine by the time Ed and Al leave her and her father.
